01 · What is Summer Camp

A whole summer,
programmed.

Jun 01 — Aug 23 · One cohort
Summer Camp is a 12-week training season at Impact House — built for adults who want a real plan, real numbers, and a team to train with through the summer.

Most of the year you string together drop-ins, random workouts, and a vague goal. Summer Camp swaps that for a single structured arc: 12 weeks, a clear baseline, a coach-built plan, weekly classes, three testing days, and a graduation at the end.

You train at Impact House — Edmonton's HYROX-affiliated gym — in hybrid-format group classes, with strength and conditioning work programmed around them. Everything is tracked in the Camp Portal so you can see the season unfold.

You finish with a Combine score, a benchmark workout time, and a graduation ceremony with the people who trained beside you all summer.

Coach-reviewed · Adjusted monthly

A plan, not a PDF.

After your intake and baseline Combine, coaches build a 12-week plan around your goals, your schedule, and the equipment you have. Classes, runs, strength, and accessory work — all programmed in one weekly view inside the Camp Portal.

Pick a track when you sign up: hybrid race-prep, strength & conditioning, or a periodized blend. The plan re-adjusts after each Combine Day so you're chasing the right number at the right time.

Questions, answered.

07 of the most common
01What is Summer Camp?
Summer Camp is a 12-week structured training cohort at Impact House — June 1 to August 23, 2026. It's a full season of programming for hybrid athletes: 24 group classes, a coach-built custom plan, a tracking portal, three Combine testing days, and a graduation test at the end. One intake. One summer. One cohort.
02How does the price work — what does $599 actually cover?
$599 CAD all-in. That's 24 class passes at just $25 per class — about half the regular drop-in rate. On top of the classes, you also get the custom 12-week plan, the Camp Portal, three Combine Days, the cohort channel, and the Graduation event at no extra cost. The classes alone are the deal; everything else is included.
03How is the plan personalized?
After you sign up, you'll fill out a 5–7 minute intake (goals, training history, schedule, equipment). You complete Combine Day 1 to set your baselines. Coaches then build your 12-week plan in the Camp Portal — classes, runs, strength, and accessory work that fit your week. The plan re-adjusts after every Combine Day.
04What's the Graduation Test?
Week 12 closes with Graduation Day at the gym: your final Combine, a benchmark hybrid workout, and an in-person ceremony with the cohort. You walk out with a 12-week record of progress, a final score, and a finishers list pinned in the Portal.
05What if I'm on vacation, away, or have holidays during camp?
The plan flexes around your real life. In intake you tell us about vacation days, work travel, weddings, long weekends, or any week you're away — we build it into your 12-week schedule from day one. If plans change mid-camp, your coach re-shapes the week so you don't fall behind. Travel workouts (hotel-room, bodyweight, or a drop-in gym version) can be swapped in for any session.
06How does the vacation freeze actually work?
One freeze window, up to 2 consecutive weeks, anywhere in the 12-week season. The freeze pauses your plan and class passes — it does NOT move Graduation Day (Aug 23). You finish the remaining weeks alongside the cohort and graduate with everyone. Paused passes roll into September drop-ins. If a Combine Day falls inside your freeze, your coach scores you on a make-up session in the Portal so your progression chart stays intact. Pick freeze OR the 4-pass rollover at intake — not both. A few examples: • 10 days in Italy, Jul 13–22 — Coach freezes Wk 6 + half of Wk 7. You get a light 'travel kit' (3 hotel-room sessions + 2 runs, optional). On return, Wk 7 resumes mid-week with a deload, then back on plan for Combine 2 the following weekend. Graduation: still Aug 23. • 14 days in Muskoka, Aug 4–17 — Coach freezes Wk 10 + Wk 11. You miss Combine 3 in person, so you score it as a make-up at the lake (open-water swim swap allowed). Wk 12 is a sharpening week back at the gym, then Graduation Day Aug 23 with the cohort. • Long weekend trips (no freeze used) — A 4-day trip to BC over Canada Day weekend doesn't burn your freeze. Coach just shifts your training days that week (e.g. Mon/Wed/Fri instead of Tue/Thu/Sat) and gives you 2 short travel sessions. Freeze stays available for a longer trip later.
07What if I miss a class but I'm not on vacation?
Up to 4 unused class passes bank into September drop-ins. This is the alternative to the freeze window — pick one at intake (you can switch with your coach if life changes). Missed classes don't disappear; they either roll forward or get rebuilt into a make-up session in your Portal that week.
08Do I have to be experienced?
You should already train 2–4 times a week and know what hard training feels like. Summer Camp isn't a beginner intro program — it's a structured cohort for people who want a number to chase, a plan to follow, and a team to chase it with.
